UCL Breakfast Briefing

'Short term relief, long term grief?'

A financial and regulatory view of short-term thinking in current equity markets

Wednesday 7 November 2012, 8.00-10.00am

Dr Arad Reisberg, Director of the UCL Centre for Commercial Law and Reader in Corporate and Financial Law, will lead a round table discussion, offering a financial and regulatory view of short term thinking in current equity markets.

Lead by Dr Reisberg attendees will debate whether the system in which companies and shareholders interact, promotes quick fixes that undermine the market’s credibility and the potential for long term economic growth in the corporate world.  Attendees will also consider if misplaced loyalty in CEOs and the need for scapegoats, lies at the heart of numerous recent scandals.

We would welcome your perspectives and everyone will be encouraged to share their views. This event will be of interest to anyone working in Finance or Law.

After the discussion, there is time for networking with other UCL alumni working in business and finance in New York.
